When it comes to teaching inspiration is all around us. Many of our lessons are influence by the time of year; some are inspired by visiting other teachers; and some our even inspired by our students themselves. Inspiration is everywhere but sometimes we do not realize the effects our lessons have on students until they reflect the inspiration in their own way. These past few weeks in December are a showcase as to how inspiration filters through a classroom.
Students have been busy, busy, busy! The halls are decorated with fun holiday inspired projects for all ages, one of them, "The Sweatered Snowman", was actually inspired by a drawing in a second grade student's sketchbook! Inspiration also struck another second grade student who enjoyed the "O'Keefe" project so much she made a second one at home. Fourth grade students at Woodcrest were able to try their hands at making clay turtles, after I was inspired after a visit with another art teacher. In all, it has been a fun-inspirational few weeks!
